John Ross - New Haven Portrait Photographer - The Art of Retouching Studio

Photography Rates

Photography rates and pricing are basically INVESTMENTS that you’ll be making toward that perfect photo. You can find out more about the different photography rates and packages HERE:

In general, there is a non-refundable 50% deposit for all sessions booked. This goes into your total package rate though, and we’ll settle that once everything is good to go.

For returning customers, I’d like to keep a happy working relationship with you with a 15% loyalty discount for every session booked. It’s always nice to see a familiar face, after all.

Because I am a professional retoucher—and I always have the resulting retouched photo in mind during every shoot—all photo session packages include full, high-quality retouching from me. We’ll pick out the best ones from the shoot and retouch those, but if you want to commission any additional work, just let me know and we can discuss any costs that might incur.

At every session, we’ll keep you as involved as you want to be by keeping you in the loop throughout the whole shoot. This way, we can both check out each shot and inspect to see what works and what doesn’t, or anything we might have missed along the way. I want to make sure that you feel happy, satisfied, and in control after every photo shoot, and that we’ll only use the photos that have your stamp of approval on them.

Additional fees:

  • Women’s makeup – You can always arrive at the shoot with your makeup already done, but if you feel like you need help in that area, we’ve got you covered. With an additional rate of $150, we can apply subtle and professional makeup on you that helps complement your natural beauty along with the appropriate lighting of the studio (or natural daylight, if outdoors). We’ll do touchups as the session goes on, so you won’t have to worry about shiny skin or running mascara. The artist will stay with us for the duration of the shoot.
  •

  • Women’s hair – It’s always best to come with the way your hair is naturally styled as it is, but if you want to look like you’re having the most amazing hair day, we can do some styling for that too. The makeup artist can do general hair, and is included. But if you need a separate hair stylist, then an additional fee of $150, and we’ll make sure that your hair is runway-ready at the shoot.
